How it works

How your compatibility is calculated

Each person's birth details are run through the same engine as our Birth Destiny Calculator. The two charts are then compared tradition by tradition, each comparison is scored out of 100, and the overall score is a weighted average of every section that can be calculated from the details you entered.

Western astrology

Compares Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and rising signs between you. Signs that sit in harmonious angles (same element, sextile, trine) score highest; squares and quincunxes score lowest.

Chinese zodiac

Looks at your year, month and hour animals: harmony groups and "secret friends" score highest, while clashing, harming and punishing pairs score lowest. Your year elements adjust the score.

Four Pillars (BaZi)

Compares your two Day Masters, your Spouse Palaces (the day branches) and whether each chart supplies the elements the other is short of.

Vedic Guna Milan

The traditional Indian 36-point Ashtakoota match, based on both Moon signs and birth stars: Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi.

Numerology
