Choose the day you were born

The small number under each day is its root. Days with the same root share a family resemblance, but each has its own character.

How to find your birthday number

Take the day of the month. The month and year do not matter. Born on 23 March? Your number is 23.

Add the digits to find the root. 2 + 3 = 5, so the 23rd has the root number 5.

Keep master numbers whole. The 11th and 22nd are not reduced, and the 29th adds up to 11.

2+3=5

Karmic debt birthdays

The 13th, 14th, 16th and 19th are karmic debt numbers. Each is said to carry a lesson that tends to repeat until it is learned.

Two different numbers

Birthday number or Life Path number?

Your birthday number comes from the day alone and describes a talent you were born with. Your Life Path number adds up your whole date of birth and describes the direction of your life as a whole.

Most people have two different numbers. Read both, starting with the numerology guide.

The Life Path is the road. The birthday number is what you packed for the journey.

The nine core numbers and three master numbers

Birthday numbers: questions, answered

What is a birthday number in numerology?

Your birthday number is the day of the month you were born on, from 1 to 31. It describes a particular talent or quality you were born with, and it is one of the core numbers in a numerology chart.

How do I calculate my birthday number?

Take the day of the month you were born. If it has two digits, add them together to find its root: for example, the 23rd is 2 + 3 = 5. The 11th and 22nd are master numbers and are not reduced.

Is my birthday number the same as my Life Path number?

Not usually. The birthday number uses only the day of the month, while the Life Path number adds up your whole date of birth.

Which birthdays are master numbers?

The 11th and 22nd are master number birthdays, and the 29th adds up to 11. Master numbers are thought to carry extra potential.
